ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jiivanii RedMarks (Heinrich), a Jamaican, is a multiple award-winning fine artist, and arts Entrepreneur in based in Florida. In 2020 just after completing a one-year International Curatorial Program at The Node Center, based in Germany; Jiivanii became one of several recipients of “Curators Of Colour Sponsorship” from The Ziegler Academy, which is based in London, England. She studied at the Edna Manley College for the Visual and Performing Arts (Kingston, Jamaica), UWI Creative Arts Centre –Fashion Design (Kingston, Jamaica), Institute of Leather Technology in Holland – Shoe engineering, design and construction, and Contemporary Art, and History of Photography at Pont-Aven School of Contemporary Arts, in Pont-Aven France.

Jiivanii began studies in Jewelry Fabrication in Jamaica, but abandoned the program because of damages to her fingernails. Fast-forward, to 2018, Jiivanii reclaim studies in Jewelry fabrication, Wax Carving, Lapidary, and Gemstone Setting at Boca Raton Museum School Of Art, American School of Jewelry, and Jewelry Creations Workshop, all in Florida.

In 1997, Jiivanii left the world of fashion where she launched her line of clothing branded “AKSHON Sportswear and Fine Art Gallery,” and dove headlong into the world of fine art as a professional artist. She had her first solo exhibition (Sold-out) in November of 1997, which rocked the island of Jamaica. She then continued to a second and a third solo exhibition on the Island, which also changed the face of the island’s art scene. Throughout the following years Jiivanii continued to show internationally in group exhibitions (Museums and Institutions) namely, USA, Germany, Greece, Estonia and France.
